Savages Wharf undergoes a reorganisation

Savages Wharf, a multi functional marina with serviced yard and top class facilities, located in Williamstown, just 15 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, is having a re-organisation.

Well known marine identity Terry Oakley has joined the crew as ‘Relationship Manager’. Well known to Victorian and Tassie boaters, Terry is an avid sailor, Sydney to Hobart competitor and previously ran his own boat sales outlet. Terry will be ably assisted by Jeff Whiteside who brings 40 years experience as a shipwright and yacht management to the organisation.

Savages Wharf is part of the Savage family’s 119 year maritime history that goes back to 1898. JJ Savage & Sons became the largest and most respected household name for leisure marine craft in Asia Pacific.

After the sale of the boat manufacturing business in 1999, John Savage, who is still actively involved in the business, created Savages Wharf, a state of the art marina precinct incorporating a modern floating marina with berths from 10m to 32m, a service yard featuring a 40 tonne travel lift, on-site marine trades, hard stand and boat storage and Savages Wharf Club, a dedicated lounge for marina customers.

“This re-organisation has given us the opportunity to refocus on what’s important to our customers. We believe they want top class facilities, in a top class location, all backed up by top class service” said Terry. “That’s what we’re aiming to provide”
