BIAV makes impassioned video plea to relax ban on boating

The CEO of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) has made an impassioned plea, via video, to Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and the Minister for Fishing and Boating Hon Jaala Pulford to relax the current ban on recreational boating in Victoria

Boating is a low-risk activity which supports businesses and jobs, and also the mental and physical wellbeing of those who get out on the water in the open fresh air.

The Boating Industry Association (BIA) has also sent a Submission to a total of 36 Ministers at Federal and Premiers at State level, and heads of departments across Australia, advocating for their support of the gradual and measured reactivation of boating activities.

The BIA’s approach has already been received well, with Qld, as an example, subsequently amending official advice regarding permitted boating activities and they are expecting this to be reflected in other states in due course. BIA is working on this in partnership with the Marine Industries Association MIA and the BIA in Vic and WA.
