Annual Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race is on!

The Festival of Sails Organising Committee and the Royal Geelong Yacht Club has thanked the sailing community for the overwhelming support shown for the tough decision to cancel the 2021 Festival of Sails event. With Government restrictions now beginning to ease in Victoria, the team has been excited to see both recreational and competitive sailing begin to recommence at a Club level.
Whilst the delivery of the Festival of Sails in 2021 is still not possible, the Organising Committee has resolved to maintain the tradition of the Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race and provide sailors with an opportunity to get on the water on Sunday 24 January, over the Australia Day long weekend.
The team is currently working on COVID Safe Plans for the event, and will release the Notice of Race in the coming weeks. Full details will be available on the Festival of Sails website.
2021 will be the 178th instalment of this iconic Passage Race, and RGYC look forward to hosting as many of you as possible in Geelong again this January.
