National Boating Week 25 Sep to 02 Oct

A ‘National Boating Week’ will be held from 25 September to 02 October and will be supported by a host of Boating Industry Association (BIA) activities. National boating week will also coincide with the launch of the new ‘Discover Boating’ website at

The week will mark the start of a Consumer Marketing Campaign intended to make recreational boating top of mind for boaters, new and old, thereby increasing boating participation.

Targeted at three main groups, the objective is;

  • To provide information to non-boaters to inspire them to engage in the lifestyle.
  • To re-engage those lost to boating and re-engaging them in the lifestyle.
  • To provide existing boaters with information and resources to better their time on the water and inspire them to spend even more time boating

Anticipated activities will include;

  • Factory Open Days
  • Try Sailing Days at Sailing Clubs
  • Try Boating Days by Dealers or OEM’s
  • Guest appearances (celebrities, influencers, fishos) at BIA member businesses
  • Marinas inviting locals to ‘Covid-Safe’ community social gatherings
  • Activities that engage consumers, creating good will & promoting the recreational boating lifestyle
  • A Consumer competition (boating lifestyle photo/video comp)

Victorian involvement will no doubt be impacted by the Covid situation in Melbourne, however, the BIAV will be joining forces with the BIA in coordinating a series of activities in Victoria and wherever possible, promote actual activities. If restrictions are still in place the online initiatives, linked to members and their businesses, will be possible.

BIA and BIAV members are being asked to consider hosting an event during National Boating Week at your location (can be as short as a couple of hours or as long as a day or two). Contacxt your local BIA for more details.
