MIA Accredits two New ‘Fish Friendly’ Marinas

Fenwicks Marina, at Brooklyn, north of Sydney and Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard have both added to their reputations for environmental best practise with recent accreditation as ‘Fish Friendly’ marinas. This accreditation is an added achievement to their existing and recently renewed Level 3 Clean Marina accreditation.

“Marinas can provide important habitats for fish. The ‘Fish Friendly Marinas’ program has been developed to inform marina managers on how to maximise the benefits for fish and recognise those operators actively working to improve fish habitat. MIA congratulates both Gold Coast City Marina and Fenwicks Marina on their significant commitment to protecting and preserving the valuable marine habitat in which they are located and communicating their efforts to customers and visitors,” Colin said.

Andrew Fenwick CMM said “I know I speak on behalf of our staff and tenants in saying that Fenwicks Marina is proud to be able to fly the Clean Marina flag as an important signal that we are committed to the highest environmental standards. This extra achievement will further encourage us to continually improve our operations and environmental performance.”
