Sales testament to Italian SACS-appeal

Launching in classic Italian style with an impressive on-water presence at the Sydney International Boat Show in July, SACS Marine Australia has reported major momentum in the second half of 2015, with several sales since SIBS and orders flowing into the New Year.

“We have sold five boats since SIBS and have two more on order,” affirms Colin Wilcox, who recently joined SACS Marine Australia as Sales Manager. “We have sold a Strider 8, two Strider 10's, and two Sports 780's, with enquiries coming in constantly.”

Colin says the marque has achieved attention from the right demographics and he is confident of a great year in 2016, with the debut of the new S900 model which premiered at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September and impetus from exhibiting at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Sydney International Boat Show.

“Feedback from prospective clients and the industry is that finally, there’s a RIB with style and substance, with the same quality and design aesthetic as people demand of their boats.

“RIBS have become the vessel of choice for yacht owners, thanks to their lightweight, high-performance construction and durable, non-damaging tubes, and boaties who seek the exhilaration of being close to the waterline.”

Colin, whose background includes production roles with Sunseeker International and heading up warranty and support for Sunseeker Australia, observes that unlike many RIB brands, “SACS RIBS are not designed off rescue boats”.

“SACS RIBS did not evolve from military craft. They are much sleeker and streamlined, characterised by Italian flair and precision craftsmanship, designed to be a statement boat.”

Ranging in size from 7m to 19m, SACS RIBS are popular tenders for superyachts in Europe. In Australia, they are finding their niche as premium day boats and chase boats for yachts 60ft and above.

“The smaller models are excellent as runabouts, and once you move up in size and add a WC and cabin, you find people staying out overnight.

“Some of our new clients are using their SACS RIB as transport between their home and their mooring. The skipper takes the yacht out early and finds the perfect anchorage, then the family follows later in their SACS boat in complete comfort and safety.”

The advantage of SACS RIBS over other brands includes superior styling, performance and handling, large floorspace and a myriad of features that equate to an extremely stable, quiet and dry ride in all conditions.

Produced in Milan under the direction of award-winning designer, Christian Grande, the semi-custom range of RIBS is available in three core lines: Individual Class, Sport Class and Top Class.

Hallmarks of the brand include the deep-V hull, low centre of gravity and supremely durable Hypalon tubes.

“Many boat owners are looking for a thrilling day boat with stability, a dry ride and something different from the norm – something with guts as far as performance goes, and that scene-stealing style Italians are renowned for.”

According to the team at SACS Marine Australia, interest is increasing in the bigger end of the SACS range, up to 18 and 19m.

“These boats offer up to three cabins and all the luxuries of a much larger boat. Their top speed is around 40 knots, and they only burn 180L of fuel per hour at 32 knots, making them a highly compelling choice, compared to buying a traditional 60-foot boat.”

“Our clients have the assurance that their SACS RIB will be completely custom-built for them in Milan, with no corners cut, and they can count on taking possession of a day boat or tender that is one of a kind, embodying their personality,”.

Attracting its fair share of attention at its Cannes launch, the S900 is due down under in February. With a cruising speed of 30 knots and maximum speed of 50 knots, this 9m Sports model with 3.8m beam delivers a scintillating but thoroughly dry ride. The walk-around console and steel roll-bar add a sporty dimension to the design. The stern area can be configured in three different modes: sofa, round table with chairs and dinette, while at the bow, there’s access to a WC with dressing option.

SACS Marine Australia works closely with clients throughout the build process and provides comprehensive after-sales service and support.
