Clairabella again onboard with Variety

24 November 2008

Variety Splash supporter ‘Team Clairabella’ hosted a gala fundraising evening at Williamstown’s Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club (RVMYC) on Saturday 22 November. The evening raised over $20,000 for Variety, the children’s charity.

Around 100 guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner, drinks and live music, along with a series of fundraising auctions. Items sold included corporate sport packages, original artwork, memorabilia, day spa packages and days out onboard Team Clairabella boats.

As one of the major entrants in the 2009 Variety Splash, Team Clairabella comprises four power boats – Clairabella, a 44’ Outsider flybridge cruiser; Limelight III, a 47’ Riviera flybridge cruiser; Nor’ West, a Novatec Tradewinds 40’ displacement cruiser; and Uelya, a 38’ Randell flybridge gentlemen’s cruiser – all of which can entertain 10 people in comfort.

This will be the second year Clairabella has participated in the Variety Splash, following the success of last February’s inaugural event, in which participants raised over $130,000 to help improve the lives of Victoria’s Special Needs Children.

With similar ethos to the iconic car rally fundraiser the Variety Bash, the Variety Splash is a leisurely three-day / two-night boat rally circling Port Philip Bay, interspersed with social events and a good dose of irreverent fun.

The 2009 event will commence at Waterfront City Docklands and ‘Splashers’ will travel a course to Mornington, across the bay to Geelong, and back up to Waterfront City. Participants can rest their sea legs during stopovers and nightly functions, and revel in style during the event’s final festivities at the Docklands finish line.

With a selection of boats available for corporate and private bookings in the February 2009 event, now is the time to get your team together before the silly season really gets underway!
